Hey StreetEasy! 👋 Thanks for dropping by!
I’m Seth Benson, an UX design leader passionate about solving complex problems while making sure the teams I work alongside always feel empowered to do their best work.
Why StreetEasy?
I’ve always been fascinated by the way real estate platforms shape how people imagine their lives. StreetEasy clearly isn’t just a listing site — it’s a part of the rhythm of living in New York. As someone who can easily lose an hour diving into floor plans, neighborhood maps, and listings I’ll never actually move into, I really admire design and strategy you've put into this platform.
So when I saw the opening for a Manager, Product Design role at StreetEasy, I immediately felt a strong alignment — both personally and professionally.
Some of the work I've done
Most recently, I led design teams supporting the global communications group at Eli Lilly. We worked together to evolve their design system, integrating accessibility standards and streamlining collaboration with internal dev teams. I’ve helped build strong, healthy design cultures and guided teams through unfamiliar territory, coaching designers in UX thinking, creative concepting, and presentation skills.
Before that, I helped implement end-to-end digital transformations for everything from youth nonprofits to cloud-based CRM platforms. Across each, the goal was always the same: reduce friction, elevate clarity, and make experiences that feel helpful and human.
I'd love a chance to walk you through more on these and other projects, but in the meantime feel free to check out some high-level examples below.
What I’d bring to your team
A strong track record of improving design processes to save time and increase consistency — in some cases cutting hours by up to 40%.
Experience using real data (analytics, user feedback, heatmaps) to inform decisions — like the recall landing page I redesigned that dropped bounce rates by 35%.
A collaborative mindset. I’ve led efforts to integrate content strategy into dev environments, allowing teams to move in parallel and ship faster.
A weird love of real estate shoping combined with a deep motivation for great user experiences. I see the world through a UX lens — and that includes the excitement and emotion behind finding a home.
Why I’m reaching out
I want to be part of a team that’s shaping something people use in deeply personal, high-stakes moments — like deciding where to live. The opportunity to lead and mentor designers at StreetEasy while improving the product experience for thousands of New Yorkers? That’s the kind of work that energizes me.
If this resonates with you too, I’d love to connect.
